HEDERA COLCHICA.
Vigorous evergreen ivy which can be grown on a wall or fence, trained up
trees, used as ground cover, or grown as a shrub. All Zone 6. We have
three varieties;
‘Dentata’; very large dark green leaves, very fast
growing;
‘Dentata Variegata’; grey-green leaves with bright
yellow flakes
and margins;
‘Sulphur Heart’; large dark green leaves suffused with
gold
markings.
HEDERA HELIX.
There are numerous varieties of the common English ivy, of all sizes,
the small plants make very useful ‘fillers’ in all sorts of situations
in the garden and will also make attractive indoor plants. All Zone 8 or
lower. We offer the following;
‘Ardingly’;
silver grey leaf bushy habit, moderate growth;
‘Buttercup’; the best yellow if grown in the sun, about
6ft;
‘Duckfoot’; tiny leaves like duck’s feet for a trough or
rock
garden, about 18”
‘Erecta’; dark green leaves on stiff self supporting
stems, about
3ft;
‘Glacier’; grey-green leaves variegated
with silver grey, about
6ft;
‘Goldchild’; grey green leaves with broad yellow
margins, about
3ft;
‘Gold Ingot’; golden yellow leaves splashed with lime
green,
about 3ft;
‘Goldstern’; lime green with a dark green central
splash, about
3ft;
‘Ivalace’; lustrous dark green leaves with wavy crimped
edges,
about 3ft;
‘Leo Swicegood’; small entire single lobed dark green
leaves,
about 18”.
‘Spetchley’ the smallest we know, tiny dark green
leaves,
suitable for a sink or patio edge.
HEDERA HIBERNICA.
Extremely vigorous green leaved ivy, making effective ground cover under
trees, or in the open, or forming an evergreen ‘hedge’ on a wire fence.
