CHIMANOBAMBUSA TUMIDISSINODA.
An elegant bamboo with small leaves and an arching habit reaching about 4ft. May need containing, and makes an excellent container specimen. Z7.
FARGESIA: this genus is unusual in not having running rhizomes. Each new rhizome produces only one new shoot which grows at the edge of the clump, so that the plant expands slowly.
FARGESIA MURIELIAE
An elegant medium sized bamboo, forming a clump of slender stems with small narrow leaves. A good compromise for those without room for a Phylostachys. We have several named forms which while similar to the species, vary in height, from 'Bimbo' about 4ft to 'Jumbo' about 10ft. Commonly classed as. Z7 the genus may well be even hardier.
FARGESIA NITIDA.
Most forms of this species have been flowering for the past few years, which will probably eventually prove fatal. They are therefore currently not available
FARGESIA ROBUSTA:
A good substitute for Fargesia nitida having a similar height (about 14ft.) and a narrow upright habit, and being a fargesia no running rhizomes
FARGESIA RUFA
Similar to murieliae and once thought to be a form of that species this bamboo reaches 8 or 9ft. Z7
HIBANOBAMBUSA TRANQUILANS SHIROSHIMA.
A rare eye catching broad green and yellow variegated foliage. Forms a wide bush up to about 4ft. Will eventually send out runners if the plant is not confined. Unwanted growth can be pulled out and removed. An excellent plant for a large container. Z8.
